According to the Microsoft Work Trend Index, 78% of employees are already using AI tools, often without management's knowledge. At the same time, 60% of managers worry that nobody actually has a plan.
What's happening in your company right now:
- Marketing uses ChatGPT for social media posts
- Sales generates email drafts with it
- HR screens job applications with AI tools
This "shadow AI" carries real risk: GDPR violations can cost up to 4% of annual turnover, EU AI Act violations up to 7%.
Even bigger is the loss of knowledge. Every question your team asks an AI tool, and every document they feed it, is knowledge leaving your company.
The key to successful AI adoption:
- Define where your company stands. What can your employees already do, and what tools are they using?
- Set out what you want to achieve. "AI will handle it" just leads to frustration. A clear strategy shows the way.
- Build a flagship project. Start where it genuinely helps your employees.
